Got played by MakeMyTrip Savaari??? Here’s what happened

We booked a Bangalore - Ooty - Bangalore trip through MakeMyTrip Savaari, got quoted ₹15K for Innova crysta all-inclusive (driver food, stay, sightseeing basically everything except state tolls/taxes).

Honestly, no complaints about the driver. Guy was skilled, patient, handled those Ooty ghats like a pro.

But the real issue popped up at the end of the trip.
We were suddenly asked to cough up rs 5000 extra:
2000 for Tamil Nadu “temporary permit”, 2000 random “other taxes” (no clarity or receipts), 1000 for local sightseeing (which was supposedly INCLUDED??)

When we asked for a proper breakdown, the driver got weirdly vague. Numbers were suspiciously round, some things felt double-counted, and there was zero transparency. Yeah, we should’ve collected receipts along the way (lesson learned) but still, this felt shady as hell

The driver also says “sightseeing doesn’t apply for hill stations”. Then why was it part of the package in the first place? He also asked us to rush through the payment and got extremely short when we asked questions.

The ride was smooth, but the billing left a seriously bad taste.

Also, MakeMyTrip itself is completely useless here. No clear guidance on what “taxes” you should realistically expect. You’re basically walking in blind.

Genuine question to people who’ve done this route:
1. How much should TN permits + taxes actually cost for a BLR–Ooty round trip in a yellow board cab?
2. Is this normal, or did we just get nicely scammed at the finish line
