Abaiang atoll, Kiribati

Recently returned from a trip to Kiribati (pronounced Kee-ree-bahs), an island nation in the south Pacific. The main island Tarawa is densely populated, but it's possible to do a trip out to some neighboring atolls to get a more relaxed experience. Abaiang is the atoll just north of Tarawa. The boat trip took about 3 hrs each way. Once there, accommodation is very basic. No electricity in the huts but the views are spectacular.
