Help me dress less like I’m going to daycare 💀

I need help figuring out how to dress for the summer heat!!
Over the winter I discovered I feel most comfortable in a grunge/skater style of clothing. I had a lot of fun styling masculine outfits with cargo jeans, chunky sneakers, jackets over tees, etc. But now it’s summertime and my area reaches around 90-100 degrees Fahrenheit during the day, and I cannot fathom wearing long pants or heavy jackets in this weather. So I’m stuck with clothes I had from before I found my new style, which mostly consists of jorts and t-shirts 😭
Does anyone have advice on how to dress like a grunge dude without dying of heatstroke?? I discovered cargo shorts and am looking into getting some of those, but I need help with styling them with other items. Please help!
