Looking For Thrifting Advice

Hi! I would be so grateful for any advice anyone has to share.

I care a lot about reducing my waste/environmental impact, and I try to source as much of my clothing secondhand as possible. However, after multiple years of trying, I feel like I haven’t made any progress in terms of getting “better“ at thrifting. I’ve never really gotten to a point where I feel like my closet represents my style or has clothes I really feel good in. I rarely find anything at an in-person thrift store, unless it’s more of a curated vintage store, but those are pretty expensive. I have a bit more luck with online thrifting (e.g. ThredUp, Depop), but I would like to be able to try on the clothes, feel the fabric texture, etc. before buying them. Plus it’s still difficult to find items I really like on those platforms so not super successful.

I definitely understand that thrifting isn’t easy, and I’m totally willing to put in the necessary effort! But if anyone has tips or ideas for where I should focus my energy, I would really appreciate it :) here is a Pinterest board with some examples of clothing I think I would really enjoy / feel confident in, if I could find similar items for a reasonable price. Thank you so much!! ❤️❤️
