How are people pulling off the baggy jeans worn low look?

I keep seeing fashion girls wearing those cute baggy jeans that I think are high waisted but then styled to sit lower on the hips, and it looks so effortless and cute on them.

Whenever I try to recreate the look, though, the front bunches up into what I can only describe as… a weird man looking bulb in the front 😭 It also makes my butt look like it suddenly dropped three inches. Like the pants rappers were wearing in the 90s.

I’m curious what actually makes this look work. Is it usually more about the cut of the jeans? The rise? Do I need to size up? Or is it one of those styles that just works differently depending on body shape? Or are most of these actually low-rise jeans?

I also feel like finding jeans that are both properly baggy and genuinely low rise is surprisingly difficult, most of the ones I come across end up looking more like straight leg jeans and midrise.

I’d love to hear what people have found works for achieving this look.
