HELP: Lost Hen

UPDATE: SHES BACK!! Made her way slowly out of the woods and back to the coop. Thanks for staying with me through the crisis. New skill unlocked!

Before: Look at me, just vibin. This was my first time letting our chickens out on my own. See here? Lovely.

THEN MASS CHAOS. A huge hawk flew down and tried to grab a chicken. I threw my book at it, charged it screaming, spilled my coffee! The hens scattered! One went into the woods. Three started running down the drive way and the other two froze. I grabbed them up and put their panicked selves back into the coop. Sadly, the hen (Cecil) who ran into the woods still hasn’t come out 😭😭😭

After: I am so stressed, and I know my daughter will be upset when she learns about this. Cecil didn’t look hurt (but there was a lot happening). How do I get my hen back? The woods around here are pretty expansive. We don’t do treats from a treat bag so I don’t have an auditory cue to rely on. Any advice would be welcome!!
