Small Change is Making a Big Impact for Maui Nonprofits

Diners can make a difference by rounding their checks up to the nearest dollar at participating Hana Hou Hospitality restaurants on Maui. One hundred percent of the contributions go toward local nonprofit organizations supporting cultural preservation, environmental stewardship and community needs.

The program is available at Māla Ocean Tavern, Coco Deck Lahaina, Pizza Paradiso and Pineapple Robot.

Each quarter, Hana Hou Hospitality selects a nonprofit organization to receive the contributions. Diners can support local causes by adding a small amount to their restaurant bill.

Launched in 2026, the Round-Up Program has already supported three nonprofits across the island. During the first and second quarters of the year, contributions went to the Lahaina Community Land Trust, which helps long-term recovery efforts in the area. The third quarter beneficiary is Kahākūkahi Ocean Academy, which empowers Maui’s youth through ocean education, environmental stewardship, mentorship and cultural connection. During the fourth quarter, contributions will go to the Lahaina Restoration Foundation, which works to preserve Lahaina’s historic landmarks, cultural heritage and sense of place for future generations.

Through Sept. 30, diners can round up their checks to support Kahākūkahi Ocean Academy (K.O.A). All of the contributions will support K.O.A’s mission of empowering the island’s youth through ocean education.

As a local business group, Hana Hou Hospitality says it’s proud to give diners an opportunity to support the community that has stood by it over the years. Each meal becomes a chance to make an impact beyond the restaurant and help preservee what makes Maui a special place.
